Roger Sabota Memorial Scholarship
The Roger Sabota Memorial Scholarship at Nicolet College honors the life and legacy of Roger Sabota, a devoted educator, outdoorsman, and mentor whose impact spanned family, community, and nature. Born in Wisconsin Rapids, Roger pursued higher education after encouragement from a coworker, earning degrees in industrial technology and guidance and counseling. He dedicated over 30 years to Nicolet College as an administrator, guidance counselor, and math instructor, guiding students with wisdom and compassion. Roger’s love for the outdoors was reflected in his writing for regional publications, where he shared stories that celebrated nature, family, and reflection. His legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren, all of whom embody his values of kindness, humility, hard work, and lifelong learning. The scholarship, established by his family, continues Roger’s commitment to education, community service, and the natural world, supporting students in achieving their goals just as he helped countless others during his lifetime.
