Bonnie Schillinger Johnson Memorial Scholarship

Donor, Mary B. Good, wrote, “Bonnie (Bonita L.) Schillinger Johnson was my best friend who passed away on February 16, 2023 at 73 years old. The eldest of 11 children of Joseph and Gertrude Schillinger. She received her certificate of nursing assistant from Nicolet College in 1969 and worked as a CNA at Lakeland Memorial Hospital. Her labor of love was as a group home manager in Rhinelander for over 30 years, caring for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Bonnie was a humanitarian, a kind and caring, lovely lady, and a joy to all who had the good fortune of knowing her. She would be pleased that this scholarship has the potential of helping someone walk in her footsteps.”

Qualified applicants for this award must be enrolled in the Nursing Assistant program (first preference) or the Medical Assistant program (secondary preference) with a minimum GPA of 2.0. First preference will go to a student with the intention of working with intellectually and developmentally disabled patients.
